Help Give a Homeless Vet a Wonderful House Warming

It’s been years in the making, but finally, thanks to the hard work of the team at Ascencia, we’ll be moving a homeless vet from the streets to his new apartment. As many of you know, I have been working with Lanny for nearly 4 years. I first found him in an abandoned building, and ever since that first day, I have considered Lanny like a brother.

It’s been a very challenging 4 years. When Lanny was ready for housing, the system was not ready for him. When the system was ready, Lanny was nowhere to be found. Lanny is a trooper, though.  Over the last 4 years I have had him fill out the same paperwork probably over 5 times. The bureaucracy is ridiculous, but the next piece of paperwork Lanny is signing is the lease to his new apartment.

When someone has lived on the streets for a long time,  moving into an apartment can be very scary. People have been donating some stuff, but we want to make his house warming special.  The more we can make his apartment a home, the more dignity we can give to a homeless vet who has been living on the streets for far too long.

Every penny donated will go to furnishing Lanny’s new apartment. Right now it’s pretty much empty. People give generously so we can make his new apartment a home!

Done. Can’t give much! But so freaking proud to be able to give at all. Keep inspiring me, Mark, and I’ll keep finding a way. Thanks for this :) @jackinessity
